(1) The government of Nepal shall appoint a probation officer in each district to be in close contact with children accused of criminal acts, investigate cases related to them, inspect monitoring rooms, provide guidance, and prepare reports on the status of implementation of juvenile court orders.
(2) The Government of Nepal may appoint any officer of the Government of Nepal to act as a Probation Officer until the Probation Officer is appointed as per sub-section (1).
(3) The work, duties and rights and conditions of service of the probation officer shall be as prescribed.
